We plan to reopen The Rex from Saturday 1st August 2020, as long as we are able to.
Tickets for the full month of August are on sale now. Seats can be booked online or at the box office. We kindly request that you book online, where possible.
  • We have carefully prepared a social distancing plan throughout the building.
  • Reduced screenings will minimise the number of people in the cinema and allow ample time for thorough cleaning between shows.
  • Hand sanitisers have been set up around the cinema.
  • Our already high cleaning standards will be enhanced, with specialist virus killing products used throughout.
  • All our staff will be trained to manage and maintain all the new measures and will be provided with PPE where social distancing is difficult, for instance when working behind the bar.
  • Staff rotas will be adjusted to have the same employees working together, where possible.
  • Protective screens have been installed at the bar and box office and cash payments will not be accepted.
As an Advanced Booking List member, the main perk of your membership is the priority booking.

However, this has always been limited to half the house, in order to have seats available for general release. In our opening month we will have significantly less screenings and seats to offer to our members and the general public.

To maintain social distancing when booking tickets, we are requesting patrons book online, where possible. We do not currently have the facility for ABLers to book online in a manner that would be fair to all.

The usual discounted ticket price for ABLers will still apply.

We have carefully planned measures to encourage social distancing at each of our bar areas.

Upstairs

Patrons with upstairs seats are asked to queue from the outside steps to the bar. The front of the queue will split into two at the bar, to speed up the service time. You will then be shown to your seat by one of our trained ushers.

Downstairs

For downstairs ticket holders, you will be shown straight to your table. We ask that one member of your household comes to the bar to order.

Our new dynamic booking system will allocate your seats to allow for distance between other parties.
Some¬† sinks will be ‘blocked off’, so there will be a maximum number of people able to use the area at any one time. Clear signage will indicate this.
With reduced capacity and empty seats, customers passing groups outside their household should be minimal.
Whilst we are able to sell you a ticket at the box office, we would recommend booking online and in advance, as we cannot guarantee we will have any seats still available last minute.

The raffle will not be open for any screening, for the time being.

We have been working our way through all the ticket sales during this period, however if you have not yet been issued a credit note/refund, please email your booking details to myrextickets@outlook.com

This is a time consuming job for our staff, so we appreciate your patience and we would like to thank all those who have donated their tickets to support The Rex.

All members can request a refund for 6 months membership (£75.00).

If you are an ABLer and would like to request a refund, please email your name and contact telephone number to boxoffice@therexberkhamsted.com

If you arrive to The Rex once the film has started, we will not be able to allow you in the auditorium, as we previously were. Unfortunately we will not be issuing refunds to those who are unable to watch the film due to lateness.
All vouchers that were due to expire From 1st March 2020-1st September 2021 have been extended for a further 6 months.

The serial number on your voucher will remain the same, so you don’t need to contact us.

Our online booking system will request you fill in your contact details, in case we need to use them for Track and Trace.
If you or any member of your household are showing symptoms of Covid-19 before a screening, please do not attend the cinema and contact the Box office for a full refund.
If The Rex should have to close again, we will issue credit notes for all tickets booked. Credits notes will last for 2 years.

If for any reason, you do not wish to accept a credit note and you would prefer a refund, you must not tick the consent box online and be prepared to wait for the box office to contact you, once we are able to reopen.

To protect staff and patrons, we sadly will not be serving cheese and biscuits for the time being.
We are working hard to get everything ready to reopen, therefore we are unable to take calls and answer questions at the moment. We hope to be able to open up our lines soon.
We will only be accepting card payments at this time.
In line with government guidance, we will not be checking temperatures on arrival.

All staff will be temperature checked before commencing work.

As of 8th August all patrons visiting The Rex are required to wear a face covering in the building, except when seated and consuming food and drink.
