It’s hard to believe this vehicular-based saga has reached double digits, But here we are: an adrenaline fuelled and wildly OTT tenth entry in the Fast and Furious franchise.
If you’ve not been keeping up with Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) and his family of car destruction enthusiasts, there’s perhaps a lot to take in. I will keep it brief: the new baddie on the scene is Dante Reyes (Jason Mamoa) he’s the son of a drug lord from the fifth film (I think) and is seeking revenge on Torreto for his father’s death. Dante’s scheme will scatter Dom’s family from LA to Rome, from Brazil to London, and from Portugal to… Antarctica.
Diesel has promised (or threatened, depending on where you side with this franchise) that X is the first of a “trilogy” that will close the saga out. Whether anyone really cares about the convoluted, tangled mess of a story and its ever increasing roster of characters remains to be seen, but what we’re here for is cars and carnage, and it’s here that X is once again firing on all cylinders. Buckle up.
